NUX, the first floorstanding loudspeaker from Diapason, is designed with the same technology and criteria as the Adamantes III and Adamantes Limited Edition. In its quality of materials, simplicity of design, and advanced technology, NUX perfectly encapsulates the minimalist philosophy of the entire Diapason range. It also shares that visual appearance, which is not only pleasing to the eye but functional. The multifaceted front baffle, reminiscent of the diamond form used in the other top models of the Diapason range, provides a circular emission of sound waves around the loudspeaker, and gives a close approximation of the theoretical ideal of point source radiation. The loudspeaker quite simply "disappears" from the scene, giving the listener the sensation of a highly realistic, "virtual" soundstage. This effect is also made possible by the ellipsoidal form of the main body of the loudspeaker, which is produced from a curved piece of wood. As a bonus, this form of construction is also highly effective in damping internal standing wave resonance. Equally ideal for use in high quality domestic audio reproduction and home theater 5.1 systems, NUX provides a perfectly detailed image of the soundstage, and amazing speed in the bass register. The Diapason Direct Drive system, developed over several years of research and made exclusively for Diapason, enables the bass unit to be directly connected to the amplifier. This has obvious advantages, both sonically and for interfacing, as it makes the loudspeaker easier to drive, even when using low-powered amplifiers. The isodynamic treble unit is a perfect match for the Direct Drive bass unit, and together they provide a three-dimensional sound image of absolute realism. |

Diapason Reference Series |
| Reference Series is a range of loudspeakers which is revolutionary in terms of
its design philosophy. The series has been created to satisfy the increasing need for
loudspeakers suitable for use with the new multi-channel sound systems (DTS, AC-3, etc). The three models of the Reference Series adhere to the specifications of the new digital standards and all adopt similar design solutions aimed at providing a uniform frequency response from signals originating from a number of different points. To that end the cabinets of Adamantes III, Karis and Kentron are hand-built from staves of solid walnut, using a polyhedral diamond form of construction which gives excellent acoustic dispersion. Moreover , all three models use the new Diapason Direct Drive technology which allows the amplifier to be connected directly to the bass unit thereby eliminating any crossover-related loss or interference. The same treble unit is fitted to all models. The drivers, built exclusively for Diapason to our own precise specifications, are run-in and performance-matched for best acoustic performance of the loudspeakers. The Reference Series loudspeakers are extremely versatile
in both their use and positioning within the room, and therefore fully suitable for use in
various systems including normal stereo, Digital 5.1 and Dolby analogue surround-sound
etc.

Adamantes III, the principal loudspeaker of the Reference Series, combines the unique diamond-form of the previous versions with the technology applied so successfully in the Adamantes Limited Edition. Adamantes III may be used either in stereo configuration or in multi-channel 5.1 systems (and is available also as a single centre-channel non-shielded speaker). This rear-ported reflex speaker is designed for use with the 2/B wood and metal 71 cm stands, or the 3/P Series III 63 cm wood stands. Specifications:

Karis,"the little jewel," maintains the exact form and proportions of the Adamantes III but in a smaller size. Despite its reduced dimensions it has an acoustic character of great impact. This compact rear-ported loudspeaker is designed for use in stereo configuration in small rooms, or as the rear satellite speaker in multi-channel systems with Adamantes III as the main speaker. Dedicated stands for use with Karis are the 1/M series III 71 cm metal type and the "Wall Bracket S" for wall-fixing. Specifications:
